Ekiti State named finalist for 2026 National Pension Award

Ekiti State has been selected as one of the top three finalists for the 2026 National Pension Award in the category of ‘State of the Year in the Implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).’

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) announced the nomination, citing the state government’s progress in adopting, executing, and sustaining the CPS. PenCom noted that Ekiti State’s management efforts serve as a model for promoting sustainable pension systems and protecting the financial futures of retirees.

The final winner will be announced at an award ceremony on October 29, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. The nomination highlights the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji regarding the prompt remittance of worker contributions.
