Ekiti State targets $500m in industrial investment from Egypt

More than 40 Egyptian investors, including manufacturers, mining businesses, and agricultural operators, have expressed interest in industrial projects in Nigeria’s Ekiti State. Following the Ekiti-Egypt Industrial Investment Mission held in Cairo from July 24 to 28, 2026, the potential investment pipeline is estimated to reach up to $500 million.

The mission resulted in eight Expressions of Interest (EOIs) targeting sectors such as agro-processing, commercial farming, seed production, textiles, manufacturing, and solid minerals. Specific proposed ventures include integrated agro-industrial partnerships for corn milling and animal feed, as well as large-scale maize and sesame agricultural projects.

Ekiti State officials stated that the primary goal is to develop agricultural value chains that connect local farmers to reliable markets while ensuring domestic processing of mineral and agricultural resources. The state government aims to convert these interests into concrete investments through site visits and capital deployment to drive job creation and economic development.
