Ekiti State University to graduate first securities trading cohort

Ekiti State University (EKSU) is set to graduate the pioneer cohort of its Professional Diploma Programme in Securities Trading and Financial Markets before the end of 2026. The eight-month EKSU Financial Markets Training Programme (E-FMTP) was approved by the university senate on February 25, 2026.

The programme aims to bridge the gap between theoretical academic knowledge and the practical skills required in modern capital markets. It utilizes a state-of-the-art trading room, established through the vision of Chancellor Dr. Tunji Olowolafe with support from the Tunji Olowolafe Foundation and backed by the CFA Institute.

Students receive hands-on experience in risk management, investment strategies, and live trading simulations in global markets. The initiative is designed to equip graduates with the technical proficiency needed to compete in the global financial industry and command trading desks immediately upon entering the workforce.
