Eko Yuwono defense seeks acquittal in embezzlement case
Defense counsel Andry Ermawan has urged judges to acquit Eko Yuwono, a defendant facing embezzlement charges, arguing that the prosecution has failed to prove criminal intent or personal gain.
During the plea hearing in Surabaya, the defense asserted that no company funds were transferred to Yuwono’s personal accounts. Ermawan stated that the transactions in question, including a Rp564 million payment involving Toko Bravo, were processed directly into company accounts and actually benefited the firm. The defense maintains that the prosecution lacks evidence of 'mens rea' or criminal intent.
