Ekoparty 22 hacker conference held in Buenos Aires

The 22nd edition of Ekoparty, Latin America’s premier hacker conference, recently took place at the Buenos Aires Convention Center under the theme “embrace the chaos.” The three-day event featured technical talks, specialized workshops, and art exhibitions.

Much of the conference focused on online surveillance, addressing concerns regarding artificial intelligence, automated attacks, and mass data collection by major technology companies. Participants explored various hacking disciplines through “villages,” ranging from automotive security to the integrity of public water systems.

A new addition, the Peer 2 Peer village, focused on technological subcultures, including electronics repair, component reuse, and electronic art. The collective Cybercirujas also participated, highlighting efforts to combat planned obsolescence through technology reuse.
