Ekspres Gazetesi celebrates 55 years of operation in Gaziantep

Ekspres Gazetesi marked its 55th anniversary with a ceremony attended by politicians, industrialists, journalists, and local officials in Gaziantep. The event highlighted the newspaper's role as a witness to the city's history since its founding on October 20, 1972.

M. Bora Zor, President of the Anatolian Press Union and owner of Ekspres Gazetesi, emphasized that the fundamental duty of journalism is to bear witness to history. He addressed contemporary challenges in the profession, calling for journalists to be allowed to perform their duties without being forced into political or social polarization. Zor also advocated for the protection of journalists' professional integrity and called for a free reporting environment.

Local officials, including Arda Aşkın of the Press Advertisement Agency (BİK) and Ömer Turan from the Gaziantep Governor's Office, noted the essential role of local media in meeting the public's need for accurate information and contributing to the social memory of the region.
