Ekstraklasa standings face significant shifts due to refereeing errors

Analysis of the early Ekstraklasa season highlights significant discrepancies between official standings and results when accounting for refereeing errors. After five rounds, a corrected table suggests that while Legia Warszawa remains the leader, their point total would drop from 11 to 10. Widzew Łódź would see the most substantial gain, rising to 10 points from an official six. Other clubs like Górnik Zabrze and Wisła Kraków would also see slight increases in their point totals.

In a separate discussion regarding team performance, former PZPN president Zbigniew Boniek praised Wisła Kraków for their offensive style of play. Boniek noted that while the team struggles defensively, their entertaining, attacking football is more enjoyable to watch than the style of league leaders Legia Warszawa, despite expressing respect for the Warsaw club.
