El Arenal, Mexico and Almagro, Spain approve cemetery projects and fee revisions

The municipal council of El Arenal in Jalisco approved several measures, including a land‑use change to create a new municipal cemetery on a 20,000 m² parcel, financial support for an electrification project in the El Atravesaño neighborhood, and a partnership with Mexico’s Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER) to obtain agricultural equipment.

In Almagro, province of Ciudad Real, Spain, the city council published a revised municipal cemetery ordinance that raises fees for graves and double niches and introduces a new individual niche category. The updated rates, now €1,500.25 for a grave and €1,250 for a double niche, were approved after correcting an administrative error and are open for public comment for thirty working days.
