El Camino de Brochero declared Argentina intangible cultural heritage

The Argentine Chamber of Deputies has officially declared ‘El Camino de Brochero’ as part of the nation’s intangible cultural heritage. The 240-kilometer route connects various locations associated with Saint Gabriel del Rosario Brochero, including Villa Santa Rosa de Río Primero, the city of Córdoba, and Villa Cura Brochero.

The legislation, which follows previous Senate approval, aims to preserve and promote the traditions of pilgrims traveling the route. Similar to the Camino de Santiago in Spain, pilgrims will be able to use a passport to register their journey, allowing them to participate in tourism, gastronomy, and artisanal activities. Those who complete the circuit will receive the accreditation of ‘Peregrino de Brochero’.
