El Campello approves new Municipal Organic Regulation

The El Campello City Council has officially approved the Municipal Organic Regulation (ROM), a comprehensive document consisting of 204 articles that governs the internal structure and functioning of the local government.

A key feature of the new regulation is the establishment of an annual extraordinary plenary session dedicated to discussing the state of the municipality. This public session, which will be broadcast live, will feature an initial presentation by the mayor followed by timed interventions from municipal political groups. The only exception to this annual requirement will be during local election years.

The approval follows a lengthy drafting process that began a year ago and included various political motions and amendments from different parties. The final regulation passed with support from PP, PSOE, Vox, Compromís, and Per El Campello, while receiving opposition from EU-UP and non-attached councilors.
