El Campello Environmental Complex processes 75,000 tons of waste in Q3
The El Campello Environmental Complex, managed by Consorci Mare, processed 74,853.34 tons of urban waste during the third quarter of 2026. The facility serves 52 municipalities across the Marina Alta, Marina Baixa, and El Campello regions.
Data indicates a significant increase in the separate collection of organic matter, which rose by nearly 54% between July (134.40 tons) and September (206.90 tons). August saw the highest volume of activity for the quarter, with 26,970.96 tons processed, primarily consisting of residual waste from grey containers.
José Ramón González de Zárate, president of Consorci Mare, noted that despite the seasonal increase in population due to tourism, the volume of mixed waste has stabilized. The facility also managed over 3,430 tons of bulky waste, including furniture and pruning remains, from municipal collections and eco-parks.
