El Campello local government criticized over closed cultural center cafeteria

The political group Esquerra Unida-Unides Podem (EU-UP) has criticized the local government of El Campello for the continued closure of the cultural center's cafeteria. Despite the City Council allocating over 10,000 euros in 2024 for a feasibility study, the subsequent tender process failed due to a lack of offers.

Municipal spokesperson Pedro Mario Pardo accused the current administration of a lack of political will and management, noting that the closure has resulted in an estimated loss of 50,000 euros in municipal revenue and the loss of potential jobs. The opposition group is demanding an urgent revision of the tender requirements to allow for a reopening or, alternatively, the transfer of the space to local social associations.
