El Campello residents raise concerns over waste, urbanism, and services

During a participatory meeting organized by the political group Todos Somos El Campello, local residents expressed significant dissatisfaction regarding municipal management in El Campello. Key issues raised included the obsolete sanitation network, which citizens link to frequent fecal discharges, and the Les Canyades landfill, specifically regarding its current nuisances and the potential for expansion.

Urban planning was a major point of contention. Participants criticized developments that appear to bypass the General Urban Development Plan (PGOU) of 1986, expressing particular concern for the future of the Fabraquer and Muchavista areas. Residents called for better infrastructure and access to support the town's growth, criticizing a model they described as a ‘cement city’ and demanding more green spaces.

Additional demands focused on social services, including the need for improved healthcare, better educational offerings, and more resources for youth and the elderly, such as day centers. The group also emphasized the need for greater transparency and effective mechanisms for citizen participation in municipal decision-making.
