El Carmen de Viboral Children's Symphony Band seeks funds for national contest

The Children's Symphony Band of El Carmen de Viboral is seeking financial assistance to participate in the XVI Pedro Heriberto Morán Vivas National Children's Musical Band Contest in Guatavita, Cundinamarca.

The group, consisting of 46 children aged 10 to 15, requires 10 million pesos by October 22 to cover logistics, including transportation, food, and lodging for their scheduled appearance on October 24 and 25. While the Municipal Administration and the Institute of Culture have provided some support, the current budget is insufficient to cover all costs.

To bridge the gap, the parents' association has organized raffles, community collections, and digital campaigns. Youth leader José Miguel Sepúlveda Ortiz noted that while local administration efforts have been helpful, more funding is needed to allow the trained musicians to represent their municipality.
