El Catllar deputy mayor Antonio López assaulted

Antonio López, the deputy mayor and former mayor of El Catllar, was recently assaulted in an alleyway. The incident has caused significant indignation within the local community.

The prosecution is seeking one and a half years of imprisonment, a 480-euro fine, and 305 euros in compensation for the crime of minor injuries. While a restraining order has been issued, the five-meter separation distance has raised questions due to the proximity of the accused's residence to the Town Hall.

A fast-track trial has been scheduled for January 11, 2028.
