El Centro celebrates opening of new police headquarters and WomanHaven offices

The city of El Centro, California, marked two significant facility openings aimed at enhancing community services. The El Centro Police Department officially inaugurated a new $51.5 million headquarters, replacing an aging facility that previously housed the city's Chamber of Commerce. The modern two-building campus is designed to provide advanced technological and structural capabilities for local law enforcement.

Simultaneously, the nonprofit organization WomanHaven of Imperial Valley opened new offices at 1225 W. Main St. The consolidated facility brings the organization’s wellness, housing, and legal assistance programs into a single location. WomanHaven, which has operated since 1978, provides support for individuals and families affected by domestic violence, noting an increasing number of men seeking their services.
