El Chacotero Sentimental celebrates 30 years with new book launch

The Chilean radio program ‘El Chacotero Sentimental’ is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the release of a new book published by Fondo de Cultura Económica. The project traces the history of the program, which began in 1996 on Rock&Pop and later moved to Radio Corazón.

Led by Roberto ‘El Rumpy’ Artiagoitia, the show became a cultural phenomenon by allowing listeners to share personal stories, secrets, and confessions via telephone, acting as a collective diary for Chilean society before the era of social media.

A launch event will be held on Thursday, October 22, at Bar Liguria in Providencia. The presentation will feature a panel including Artiagoitia, journalist Óscar Contardo, and musician Mauricio Durán, with the session being recorded and streamed via PRISA Media Chile platforms.
