El Colorado fishing camp faces flooding from rising tides
Rising tides in the El Colorado fishing camp in Ahome, Sinaloa, have affected between 46 and 50 homes. Water levels inside the residences have reached between 10 and 15 centimeters, creating risks such as electrical hazards.
Mario Cosme Gallardo, head of Civil Protection for Ahome, stated that authorities are analyzing solutions, including the permanent relocation of the most vulnerable families, the installation of dikes and drainage systems, and the provision of temporary shelters. Officials noted that the tide increase is a natural phenomenon and emphasized that residents in high-risk zones should avoid the area during these occurrences. Other nearby communities, including Las Lajitas, El Jitzámuri, and Topolobampo, remain under surveillance.
