El Ejido implements major urban regeneration and road works

The municipality of El Ejido is executing significant urban regeneration and infrastructure projects aimed at improving road safety, accessibility, and public spaces.

In Santa María del Águila, authorities are overseeing the resurfacing of 11 streets, including Los Ángeles, San Sebastián, and Salamanca, covering more than 5,500 square meters of asphalt. This work is part of the IV Regeneration and Reinforcement Plan, which aims to improve over 70 streets across the municipality. Combined with recent works in the La Redonda Industrial Park, these interventions represent an investment exceeding 1.1 million euros.

Simultaneously, major rehabilitation works are underway on Calle Granada and adjacent streets. This project, costing approximately 1.1 million euros, is part of the Integrated Action Plan (PAI) and is 85% co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project focuses on modernizing commercial arteries, renewing sidewalks, improving water supply networks, and implementing new irrigation systems to revitalize the urban environment.
