El Ejido launches free summer youth program with crafts, gaming and dance

The municipality of El Ejido is running the ‘Veranillo Joven’ programme from 6 to 31 July. Held each weekday morning from 11:00 to 14:00 at the Espacio Murgijoven, the free initiative targets young people aged 12‑30.

Activities are split by day: Mondays feature rotating craft workshops (jewellery, decoupage, embroidery); Tuesdays cover youth aesthetics such as nail care, skin tips and quick hairstyles; Wednesdays offer board‑game sessions; Thursdays provide urban, modern and hip‑hop dance classes; Fridays focus on video‑game events aimed at developing cognitive and digital skills. Additional spaces include a free‑use rehearsal room and a coworking area.

Officials say the goal is to give youths a safe, social space during the vacation period, encouraging creativity, teamwork and healthy peer relationships.
