El Ejido reinforces Local Police with new emergency all-terrain vehicles
The El Ejido Local Police force is strengthening its emergency response capabilities with the acquisition of two new pick-up style all-terrain vehicles. The municipal investment for these two police vehicles exceeds 100,000 euros. Additionally, more than 14,000 euros has been allocated to equip a pick-up vehicle for Civil Protection to ensure coordinated action during emergencies.
The new vehicles are equipped to handle situations such as floods, strong winds, and fires. They feature specialized gear including winches, snorkels, rescue helmets, autonomous electric generators, mechanical saws, Halligan tools, fire axes, hydraulic jacks, and more. These resources will be operational through September 6 as part of the El Ejido Beach Plan.
This initiative is part of a broader modernization effort by the local government. Over the past year, the police force has also integrated seven new vehicles, metal and drug detectors, Taser devices, defibrillators, and over 95 bulletproof vests. The municipality has also introduced a DJI Matrice 4T drone equipped with thermal imaging to enhance prevention and emergency response.
