The summer edition of the TV competition "El Grand Prix del Verano" returned to La 1 on Monday, 13 July 2024 after a pause for the World Cup. Hosted by Ramón García and co‑presenters, the program featured the towns of Balanegra (Almería) and Zumárraga (Guipúzcoa) battling for a semifinal spot.

The broadcast attracted 1.427 million viewers, achieving a 16.8 % audience share – the highest rating of the last three editions and the most‑watched premiere since 2024. Tennis champion Garbiñe Muguruza acted as patron for the Zumárraga team, while local figure Torito supported Balanegra. New challenges such as a high‑altitude beekeeping gymkhana were introduced alongside classic tests like hamster races and hot‑potato.
