El Gusto Foods wins health and wellness award in Saudi Arabia

Costa Rican company El Gusto Foods has won the ‘Best Health & Wellness Product’ award at The Saudi Food Show 2026 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The award was granted to its Cocoa with Monk Fruit, a product that uses monk fruit as a sugar alternative while keeping cacao as the primary ingredient.

The recognition evaluates nutritional value, ingredient quality, formulation innovation, and alignment with the demand for healthier food alternatives. Eugenia Sánchez, a representative for El Gusto Foods, stated that the product aims to show that conscious consumption can coexist with flavor and pleasure.

El Gusto Foods is part of a Costa Rican delegation coordinated by the Foreign Trade Corporation (Procomer), which is participating in the international food and beverage trade fair for the fourth consecutive year. Other participating companies include Luvima de Tarrazú and Don Alexis Coffee, showcasing specialty coffee and micro-lots to potential international buyers and distributors.
