El Jadida Horse Show celebrates Moroccan equestrian traditions
The 17th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show, held from October 13 to 18, has concluded its major competitions, highlighting Morocco’s rich equestrian heritage and traditional craftsmanship.
In the Grand Prize for Tbourida, the troupe led by Mokadem Charaf El Bahraoui, representing the Marrakech-Safi region, secured first place with 484.02 points. The second position was taken by Mokadem Mehdi Anjar, also from Marrakech-Safi, while Mokadem Abdeljalil El Bouabadi from the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region earned third place.
Beyond equestrian performance, the event honored Moroccan artisans through Maison de l’Artisan. Awards were presented for excellence in traditional saddle-making, rifle-making, and textiles. The institution utilized the forum to promote Moroccan handicrafts and support craftspeople through training and quality labeling programs.
Additionally, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) participated to showcase the role of equestrian police in public order, environmental protection, and tourism promotion, aligning with this year’s theme, ‘The horse at the service of humans’.
