El Mante fire injures four, two minors transferred to specialized burn unit in Reynosa

A house fire broke out in the Miguel Alemán colonia of El Mante, Tamaulipas, on the night of 4 August 2026. The blaze injured six people, including a minor and an elderly woman, according to the state guard. Four victims were taken to the Hospital General de Zona No. 3 of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) for emergency care.

Two adolescents, 16‑year‑old Helen N and 12‑year‑old Jared N, suffered severe burns. They were moved in separate IMSS and CRUM ambulances to a specialized burn treatment unit in Reynosa for advanced medical attention. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire while the patients remain under care.

The incident prompted a coordinated response from local firefighters, medical personnel, and emergency services, but no definitive cause has been announced.
