El Mante officials supervise new water well drilling

Mayor Patty Chío and COMAPA El Mante Manager Jorge Salomón González are supervising the drilling of a new water supply well to restore service to the communities of El Abra and Ojo de Agua in Tamaulipas.

The decision to drill a new well follows four weeks of technical evaluations after the original well was deemed unusable. To support the project, Governor Américo Villarreal provided specialized rotary drilling machinery through the Secretariat of Hydraulic Resources.

During the period of water scarcity, local and state authorities have been providing water via tanker trucks to prioritize clinics, schools, and residential areas. The new well is expected to reach a depth of approximately 25 meters to access the water table.
