El Marqués and Atizapán Municipalities Invest Over 17 Million Pesos in Local Infrastructure

The municipality of El Marqués in the State of México began a public‑works program costing more than 17 million pesos. The project includes the construction of the Parque Lineal Mirador de San Juan in the El Mirador neighborhood, a 9.6 million‑peso investment that will serve over 10,000 residents, and a 7.3 million‑peso urbanisation scheme for the Santa María Ticomán community, improving sidewalks, paving, water and sewage lines for roughly 145 households.

Meanwhile, the neighboring municipality of Atizapán announced a 2.6 billion‑peso spending plan for public works and security, financed entirely from local tax revenues. Works include the renovation of sports facilities such as the México Nuevo arena, the installation of school roofs, the purchase of 260 patrol vehicles, more than 200 surveillance cameras, and the deployment of 1,200 police officers. Officials reported a temporary halt to vehicle thefts and the capture of a criminal cell operating near Jilotzingo. Social programmes covering scholarships and family support were also funded as part of the broader welfare agenda.
