El Marqués expands free mental‑health and rehab services in Mexico

On the International Day against drug misuse, El Marqués mayor Rodrigo Monsalvo Castelán opened a "Hablemos de Salud Mental" forum, highlighting the municipality’s publicly funded model that provides free residential rehabilitation, psychological and psychiatric care, and school‑based support. He noted that El Marqués "habla de salud mental para cuidarnos" and is the state leader in subsidized treatment.

In Puebla, deputy Araceli Celestino Rosas promoted a series of conferences aimed at preventing addiction, improving early detection and expanding access to support tools. She stressed that "las adicciones no distinguen edad, género y condición social" and called for community involvement, with participation from local associations and the rector of the Universidad Politécnica Metropolitana de Puebla.
