Albacete increases housing purchase prices for social rentals

The municipal public company Urvial in Albacete has approved new economic conditions to increase the purchase of private properties for social rental housing. This initiative aims to expand the municipal housing stock and reduce waiting lists for residents in the city center, peripheral neighborhoods, and areas of social exclusion.

For official protection housing (VPO), purchase prices will not exceed legal maximums, with a minimum set by the Cadastre. For free-market homes, the maximum value will correspond to the general protected housing module. Adjustments will be made based on factors such as age-related depreciation, conservation status, and amenities like elevators or heating. Properties smaller than 50 square meters or those requiring excessive renovation will not be acquired.

In other regional developments, the municipality of El Paso has opened a call for educational scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year, offering up to 600 euros for transport and subsidies for school materials. Meanwhile, the Basque Government has announced 36 scholarships of 7,332 euros each to support candidates preparing for judicial, fiscal, and legal profession exams.
