El perro andaluz wraps first season, announces Spain’s Eurovision Junior 2026 act

The Spanish TV programme El perro andaluz, presented by Manu Manu Sánchez, aired its final episode of the first season on 30 July. The show, broadcast on La 1 and produced by RTVE, used the finale to reveal Spain’s representative for the Eurovision Junior 2026 contest, which will be held on 24 October in Malta. Guest star Lolita Flores appeared as the first interviewee, and the upcoming episode will feature Santiago Segura.

Audience figures show the series averaged a 16.3 % share with 1.12 million viewers across its seven original broadcasts, peaking at a 22.5 % share and 1.74 million viewers during a World Cup match. Recent episodes after the tournament maintained around a 12.5 % share with roughly 900 000 viewers. RTVE plans to bring the programme back in September and has other autumn offerings slated for La 1.
