El Puerto de Santa María creates new 44‑spot parking lot

The municipality of El Puerto de Santa María in the El Tejar district will soon open a new parking facility with 44 spaces. Asphalt work on the 1,520 m² former ADIF site has been completed, and the next phase will involve painting the bays and installing signage. The lot, bounded by the Osborne winery fence on Gladiolo Street, will operate with a one‑way traffic flow and separate entry and exit points to improve vehicle movement and safety.

The project, financed with €173,727 from the city council, the Andalusian government and the provincial authority, is part of the 2025‑2026 Rural Employment Promotion Programme. It also created jobs for unemployed workers from the agricultural sector. Mayor Germán Beardo highlighted that the development turns a long‑neglected, polluted area into a useful service for local residents.
