El Retiro receives favorable fiscal audit from Contraloría

The Contraloría General de Antioquia has approved the 2025 fiscal account for the municipality of El Retiro following a comprehensive audit of its financial, administrative, and results management. The audit described the municipality’s budgetary and results management as ‘reasonable’ and issued a favorable assessment regarding the execution of the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, noting an efficacy of 97.5% and an efficiency of 99.99% in meeting institutional goals.

In terms of accountability, the municipality received a score of 94.7 out of 100. The oversight body reported that internal fiscal controls were ‘effective’ and confirmed 100% compliance with the improvement plan from the previous period. While ten administrative findings were identified—primarily concerning internal accounting reconciliation processes and contract supervision documentation—the Contraloría found no findings with fiscal, criminal, disciplinary, or sanctionary implications. Mayor Santiago Montoya Giraldo stated that the administration is already implementing a new improvement plan to address these administrative observations.
