El Salto authorities arrest man for alleged animal abuse

Authorities in El Salto, Jalisco, have detained José Manuel “N” for the alleged abuse of a young dog in the Circuito del Mecánico neighborhood. The arrest followed reports from residents who witnessed the man exercising violence against a puppy that had recently been given to him as a gift.

During the intervention by municipal police and animal protection personnel, authorities recovered an identification card belonging to the National Guard. The authenticity of this document is currently being verified to determine the suspect's official status within the institution. The suspect has been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry in Chapala to face legal proceedings. Local authorities noted that neighbors had previously raised concerns regarding the man's behavior.
