El Salvador Education Ministry Cancels Parade Restrictions for 2026 Independence Day

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of El Salvador announced that all previously issued guidelines for the 2026 student civic parades have been nullified. In a memorandum (N.º 10‑2026) released on 2 August 2026 and signed by Minister Karla Edith Trigueros, the ministry stated that the September 15 Independence Day events will be conducted in the traditional format used in prior years.

The cancellation removes limits on music, student attire, artistic presentations and other specifications that had been proposed for the 205th anniversary of independence. The decision applies to every public and private school nationwide, allowing directors, teachers and organizing committees to plan the festivities without the earlier restrictions.
