El Salvador export value rises 4% in first half of 2026
El Salvador's external trade recorded a $134.8 million increase in export value during the first six months of 2026, reaching US$3.4006 billion – a 4.1 % growth over the same period a year earlier. Export volume also rose by 10.3 %, climbing from 1.9159 million to 2.1126 million kilograms.
Textile products led the surge, with T‑shirts generating US$233.1 million, followed by sweaters, pullovers and similar garments at US$198.7 million. Sugar remained the third‑largest export at US$182.1 million, while plastics, coffee, electrical cables, condensers, sanitary paper and petroleum‑based oils also posted notable sales. The United States was the primary destination for Salvadoran goods.
