El Salvador honors Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yanhui

The government of El Salvador has awarded the National Order José Matías Delgado, in the grade of Grand Cross Silver Plate, to the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Yanhui. The decoration was presented by Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in recognition of the diplomat's efforts to expand bilateral cooperation.

Key areas of cooperation highlighted include infrastructure, education, health, technology, culture, and social development. Specific projects cited include the National Library of El Salvador (BINAES), a water treatment plant, Sunset Park, the La Libertad pier, a new stadium, and the International Fair and Convention Center (CIFCO) facilities. Additionally, China has donated over 344,000 electronic devices, such as tablets and laptops, for student school kits.

Ambassador Zhang expressed his commitment to continuing joint initiatives in investment, trade, and technical cooperation, noting that the recognition reflects the friendship between the two nations. He also remarked on the development and security changes observed in El Salvador during his mission.
