El Salvador: Man kills partner and dies by poisoning

A woman was killed on Saturday, September 19, in the Teotepeque district of La Libertad Costa, El Salvador, following an attack by her partner, according to the National Civil Police (PNC).

The PNC reported that the victim sustained injuries from a blunt object. Following the assault, the man identified as the aggressor ingested a toxic substance and was subsequently transported to a health unit, where he died from poisoning.

Authorities have not released the identities or ages of the individuals involved. Investigations are ongoing to establish the sequence of events and clarify the context of the aggression, including whether there were prior reports of violence against the woman.
