El Salvador opens modern Hospital Nacional Rosales with advanced equipment

El Salvador's Minister of Health, Francisco Alabi, announced that the new Hospital Nacional Rosales is now operating as the country's main referral centre for high‑complexity care. The facility is equipped with entirely new furniture, beds and medical devices, including two surgical robots—one for minimally invasive abdominal and thoracic procedures and another for orthopaedic knee and hip operations. It houses about 20 operating rooms, neuromonitoring anaesthetic systems, intensive‑care units, oncology, haemodialysis, an automated pharmacy and high‑capacity clinical laboratories.

Alabi highlighted that staff training and certification accompany the technology rollout, ensuring safe and efficient use. He also noted the ongoing completion of Hospital de Nejapa, which is close to finishing its infrastructure and is installing advanced diagnostic equipment such as CT scanners to serve the northern region and ease pressure on other public hospitals.
