El Salvador pays $10 million to former Hospital Rosales staff

The Salvadoran Ministry of Labor, led by Minister Rolando Castro, announced that payment of indemnities exceeding US$10 million will begin on 23 July for more than 1,000 former employees of the National Hospital Rosales. The disbursement will take place at the Ministry of Health’s central offices, so beneficiaries do not need to return to the hospital itself.

The indemnifications cover doctors, nurses, administrative and operational personnel who were separated under a recent public‑sector reform. The government says the payouts fully comply with Salvadoran labor law and follow President Nayib Bukele’s directive to settle all workers’ rights without delay. The process will continue in successive sessions until every former employee receives the amount owed, and the Ministry of Labor will assist with job‑placement support where needed.
