El Salvador President Nayib Bukele keeps 85% approval as analysts say political map will stay unchanged before elections

Political analyst Rafael Góchez warned that the electoral landscape in El Salvador is unlikely to shift before the upcoming elections, suggesting the current political map will remain stable.

Another analyst, Mélida Villatoro, highlighted the president’s exceptionally high and steady approval rating. The latest LPG Datos poll gave Bukele an 85.2% approval score, matching the 86.6% recorded in the first year of his second term and surpassing the peak approvals of former presidents (Saca 61%, Funes 56%, Cerén 48%). Villatoro noted a slight downward trend in some survey categories and called for greater objectivity in future polling.

Both commentators view Bukele’s popularity as one of the most stable in recent Salvadoran history, reinforcing the perception that the political environment will remain largely unchanged ahead of the vote.
