El Salvador Restores Historic Hospital Rosales Campus

President Nayib Bukele toured the newly restored former Hospital Nacional Rosales in San Salvador, showcasing the revival of the building’s historic chapel, clock tower, main facades and perimeter railing. The restoration recovered original wooden elements, Belgian‑imported metal sheets, original roofs and furniture dating back over a century, and added ornamental lighting and interior gardens.

The project was completed alongside the construction of a modern Hospital Nacional Rosales that will gradually assume the medical functions of the historic site, preserving the early‑20th‑century landmark as a key symbol of the country’s public‑health heritage.
