El Salvador wins silver and bronze at Beach Soccer Copa de Naciones
The El Salvador national beach soccer teams secured both silver and bronze medals at the Copa de Naciones held in Brazil.
The men's team, coached by Rudis Gallo, reached the final after a series of competitive matches, including a penalty shootout victory against Colombia and a 4-3 win over Peru. In the final held at Arena Guariroba, the Salvadoran side held a 0-0 tie against the host nation, Brazil, through the first two periods. However, Brazil scored two goals in the final 50 seconds of the third period to win 2-0, leaving El Salvador with the silver medal.
The women's team, led by Elías Ramírez, achieved a historic milestone by winning a bronze medal in their international debut. Following an initial 2-1 loss to Espírito Santo, the team defeated Brasilia 4-3. Their tournament concluded with a 2-1 extra-time loss to Brazil, securing third place overall.
