El Tambo strengthens agricultural production through training

The municipality of El Tambo in Nariño is implementing training programs to strengthen the productive capacities of its rural and urban communities. Led by the Municipal Administration through the Municipal Unit of Agricultural Technical Assistance (UMATA), the Victims Unit, and the Government Secretariat, the initiative is conducted in coordination with the National Learning Service (SENA).

The training sessions provide technical and practical knowledge for household and productive unit applications. Specific courses include guinea pig production and feeding, as well as biosecurity and sanitary planning for laying hens. Participants also receive guidance on managing home gardens, food security, and the efficient use of various livestock species.

The primary objective is to enable participants to integrate these technical tools into their daily activities, fostering improved agricultural practices, better resource utilization, and new food production alternatives across the municipality.
