El Terreno accessibility project begins with new elevator construction
Construction has begun on a new elevator designed to improve connectivity between Calle Patrimoni and the Passeig Marítim near La Quarentena park. The project aims to resolve a long-standing demand from local residents, particularly those with reduced mobility and parents with strollers, who previously struggled with steep stairs to access the area.
The works were awarded to Citanias Obras y Servicios SLE for a total of 545,853 euros, including VAT. The project includes installing a system of accessible ramps to bridge the height difference between Calle Patrimoni and the Sa Quarentena gardens, as well as an elevator to connect the first terrace of the garden to the Passeig Marítim. If the seven-month execution timeline is maintained, the improvements should be available to the public by January of next year.
