El Tigre residents demand road paving and vegetation clearing

Residents of the Paraíso II sector in El Tigre, Venezuela, have warned that uncontrolled vegetation has overrun the community’s peripheral streets, creating safety hazards such as snakes, drug‑use sites and criminal activity. The overgrowth, worsened by recent rains, is also encroaching on unpaved roads, limiting access for children and commuters.

Community members, including Floreidis Maicabare and local leader José Miguel Salazar, say that despite the installation of electricity and water services, the streets have never been asphalted. They allege that promises made by previous municipal administrations have not been fulfilled and accuse officials of misrepresenting the road’s condition. The residents have repeatedly appealed to municipal and state authorities for prompt action, fearing that the neglected infrastructure leaves the neighbourhood forgotten and vulnerable.

The council has yet to respond, and the community continues to press for the promised paving and regular clearing of the invasive vegetation that threatens both security and mobility.
