El Tren Fluvial film premieres in Argentina

The Argentine film ‘El Tren Fluvial’, directed by Lorenzo Ferroy and Lucas A. Vignale, is scheduled for commercial release on October 8, 2026. The film, which previously had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, explores themes of childhood, identity, and family expectations.

The story follows nine-year-old Milo, who lives in the countryside and faces intense pressure to become a skilled malambo dancer and the ideal son. Caught between domestic chores and rigorous nightly rehearsals, Milo dreams of escaping to Buenos Aires, a city he only knows through films and television. The narrative depicts his journey toward emancipation as a process involving the necessity of facing solitude.

Following the recent death of co-director Lucas A. Vignale in an aviation accident, the film will be screened at various locations, including Sala Lugones and MALBA.
