El Vendrell permanently closes two bars following resident complaints
The El Vendrell City Council has ordered the permanent closure of two problematic bars located on Camí dels Molins. The decision follows long-standing complaints from residents regarding noise, threats, fights, and suspected drug trafficking in the area.
Since 2023, law enforcement agencies—including the Local Police, Mossos d’Esquadra, Guardia Civil, and National Police—have conducted 60 controls and ten joint operations at these locations. Christian Soriano, the Councilor for Police, noted that administrative processes can be slow when attempting to close venues due to the complexities of proving drug consumption and trafficking.
To prevent future degradation, Mayor Kenneth Martínez announced the installation of two surveillance cameras connected to the Local Police in the affected area. This is part of a broader municipal initiative to deploy a network of 50 cameras throughout El Vendrell.
