Elías Lozada elected leader of Nueva Alianza Puebla

Elías Lozada Ortega has been elected as the new state leader of the Nueva Alianza party in Puebla for the 2026-2030 term. Lozada, a local deputy for District 14, led the “Lealtad Turquesa” slate, which was the only registered group to qualify for the leadership renewal.

Lozada’s primary objective is to expand the party's municipal presence ahead of the 2027 elections. He noted that the party currently governs 13 municipalities, an increase from the six it held in 2018. He also holds two seats in the local legislature.

Outgoing leader Emilio Salgado Néstor, who led the party for nine years, will transition to the role of Executive Coordinator of Legal Affairs. Salgado Néstor addressed previous allegations regarding his intentions to remain in power, stating that party statutes do not permit reelection and that he had no intention of seeking another term.
