Elías Serulle expresses regret over leaving the PLD

Former deputy Elías Serulle has expressed regret over his 2021 resignation from the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), the organization where he served for 27 years and held a seat on the Central Committee.

In a podcast interview, Serulle recalled that when he informed PLD President Danilo Medina of his decision to leave, Medina warned him, “you are going to regret it.” Serulle noted that while he experienced significant disappointments within the party at the time, he now regrets leaving the institution that provided his first political opportunities and enabled his four terms as a deputy for the National District.

Following his departure from the PLD, Serulle joined the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP). However, he resigned from the FP in May 2024 after three years, submitting an irrevocable letter to party leaders Leonel Fernández, Radhamés Jiménez, and Antonio Florián.
