Elassona kindergartens face unsafe and inadequate conditions

Athanasios Bizios, leader of the ‘Allaze’ faction in the Municipality of Elassona, has raised urgent concerns regarding the poor conditions at the 2nd and 4th Kindergartens in Elassona. He accused the municipal administration of hypocrisy, noting that while officials recently claimed all schools were safe and ready for the new academic year, the reality for approximately 50 children aged 4 and 5 is significantly different.

According to a letter from parents, the facilities face critical issues. The kindergartens lack adequate sanitation, forcing 50 children to share a single toilet with older students from a neighboring primary school. This movement occurs without consistent adult supervision, and there are reported shortages of basic hygiene supplies like soap.

Additionally, the children lack a safe playground. Instead, they use an area next to a kiosk with decayed and rotting pillars, which poses a constant risk of injury. Bizios expressed support for the parents' struggle and praised the dedication of teachers working amidst these infrastructure deficiencies.
